A considerable amount of research has recently been undertaken by the Society into the black Offley families in Massachusetts.  Three main pedigrees have been compiled and there is a distinct possibility that they all have a common ancestor.  If you have a connection with Massachusetts and would like to take part in our DNA programme at the special rate applicable to group members please contact the Society.  A DNA analysis may prove your connection with other familues in Massachusetts or with one of the eight other Offley families for which a DNA test has already been taken. Similarly, Affley in the U.S. and in the U.K. is a family that has changed its name from Offley and a DNA test would probably determine from which family it originates.
